The Cubs take the first leg of tonight’s doubleheader, and we’ll see if they can sweep in a little bit.
Jake Arrieta was solid and very efficient for much of the game – what you’d want to see with him facing the Phillies – and cruised through eight innings of one-run ball. He was so good yet again that he officially pushed his ERA under two with the effort. In-freaking-credible.
It took the Cubs’ bats a little while to break through on young lefty Adam Morgan, but you knew it was coming. He’s been battered by righties this year, and the Cubs had a bunch of good ones in the lineup.
