With only one Chicago Cubs minor league affiliate still in action right now, the options for Jorge Soler to get live action are limited. The Cubs can simulate a game in Philadelphia (as they planned to do yesterday before rains came), or they can send Soler to Myrtle Beach to play with the Pelicans in the playoffs.
And they’re doing the latter:
Jorge Soler will play for Myrtle Beach tonight and if they win he'll play again Sunday then join the team if all good

That’s fantastic news to hear about Soler, who is recovering from an oblique strain. Hopefully the Pelicans win tonight, and Soler can get in that extra game on Sunday before coming back to the big league team.
We’ve recently discussed the trickiness of getting Soler back into a regular rotation with the Cubs, but, for now, that’s a secondary worry – he’s got to get back to full health and readiness first. When he comes back, even if it were only as additional depth, that would be fantastic.
