Kris Bryant got into the homer fun yesterday with a massive blast to center field, which, in his characteristic way, he made look so easy.
See for yourself. Bryant puts such a clean, easy swing on the ball and still sends it 439 feet to center:
I find the visual of his swing, as contrasted with a guy like Kyle Schwarber or Javier Baez or Jorge Soler so fascinating. Bryant’s swing is a model of efficiency, without any wasted energy and maximizing the unique leverage his body can provide. The side view in that video really shows you how uniquely powerful Bryant is, because that’s not a swing-out-of-your-shoes situation.
And, again: it still went more than 104mph off the bat, and way, way out to center.
You already knew, but he’s special.
