Even against a bad team – the worst team in baseball, actually – it’s still a good outcome to take 3 of 4 on the road. That’s what the Cubs can do today, and, although they’re in a situation where 3 of 4 is probably not a good outcome relative to what they need to do to get back in the division race, a four-game sweep is just so darn tough.
Dan Haren starts for the Cubs, coming of his best start with the team, last week against the Cardinals. Aaron Harang started the season deceptively good, but has fallen far back as the year went on, and has been consistently thumped lately. Hopefully the Cubs continue that trend.
