The Cubs’ game tonight against the Reds arguably got a lot less significant after the Pirates drubbed the Cardinals in the first game of their doubleheader today. For now, the Cubs might as well still win, though. Because, hey, not-mathematically-such-and-such.
Jon Lester makes his final regular season start for the Cubs as a hopeful tune-up for an NLDS debut. It was a very solid year for the Cubs’ big signing. May he please age well and continue to be pretty much exactly like this. I’d totally take that over the life of his deal.
