Jason Hammel got in a jam here and there, but was able to pitch himself out of all of them (with some defensive help) in his five scoreless, walk-less innings today. Enough to buy him a short-leash playoff start? We shall see, but I do think he’s going to be in the mix somewhere, even if not as a traditional starter.
Fernando Rodney was charged with three runs later on in the game, but, eh, it was a weird inning of flukey stuff and errors/mistakes behind him and after he’d left. I wouldn’t read too much into it.
