Cubs Get a Gift, Then Jorge Soler Goes Deep (VIDEO)

Chicago Cubs

The Cubs put up a five-spot in the second inning today, all of which started when Jaime Garcia made a bad decision to throw to first on a safety squeeze that Austin Jackson had turned into a suicide squeeze – Garcia turned to first, hesitated, thought about throwing home (if he’d looked their first, Jackson was meat), then threw wild to first. An avalanche of dinks and dunks followed.

And then Jorge Soler capped it off with a 407-foot blast to center:

It’s 6-1 right now, but it’s only the fourth inning.

Soler had already doubled in the game, by the way, and has since walked. He’s looking good.
