Candelario had a five-hit game this past week, all of which were for extra bases (three doubles and two homers), and it doesn’t get much better than that.
You can read more about Candelario’s experience in Arizona thus far and what he’s working on here at MLB.com. Candelario ranks anywhere from seven or so to 20 or so in the Cubs’ system, depending on whom you ask, but I suspect that his big breakout at AA Tennessee this year, together with what’s shaping up to be a strong showing in the AFL, is going to put him clearly in the top ten for everyone by the time 2016’s opening ranking roll around.
It’s still hilariously early in the AFL – four games – but Candelario’s 2.221 OPS (ha) leads the league.
