Aramis Ramirez has officially retired after 18 years in the big leagues, half of which were spent as a criminally underappreciated member of the Cubs. In the Cubs’ two biggest years after he was acquired in 2003, Ramirez was a critical part of the playoff runs in 2007 and 2008, posting 4.8 and 4.5 WARs, and giving us one of the most iconic moments in recent Cubs memory. I still get chills watching it:

Indeed, it wasn’t until Kris Bryant brought the Cubs back with a walk-off two-run shot against the Rockies this year that I felt that same level of “holy crap, I can’t believe that just happened” on a walk-off homer. Which is why I think these two shots should forever be paired together:
