Chicago Cubs third base prospect Jeimer Candelario is laying waste to the Arizona Fall League, homering for the second consecutive day yesterday with a rocket off the bat. MLB Pipeline had it at 105mph:

And the homer, if you want to see the shot that went well over 400 feet:
That was a very nice quick-to-the-ball swing, which still produced huge power. One swing is one swing, and young guys always have to work on consistency, but there’s a lot to dream on there, in terms of power projection. I don’t think anyone expects Candelario to be one of the Cubs’ huge mashers (they have some of the best in baseball), but, at just 21, I like what I’m seeing.
Speaking of which, Candelario turned it on after a midseason promotion to AA Tennessee (.291/.379/.462, 140 wRC+, 12.1% BB rate, 11.5% K rate), and has just kept killing it in the AFL: .351/.367/.719 through 59 plate appearances. And if you’re prone to complaining and you see that the OBP is only barely above the average, keep in mind, he’s struck out only seven times.
