No one will argue against the idea that the Chicago Cubs were excellent in 2015, played to results better than what was expected, and were improved by the presence of their new manager Joe Maddon. Often, that’s the recipe for a Manager of the Year Award, but you can’t bank on it the same way you can some other awards

From where I sit, Maddon was as deserving of the award as anyone, but this is one of those things to which fans only have so much visibility.
Regardless, I think it’s awesome. And I’m happy. The Cubs are two for two in major awards.
