A fun honor for a few Chicago Cubs rookies in 2015, as Kris Bryant, Kyle Schwarber, and Addison Russell landed spots on Topps’ All-Rookie Team:

Mostly I really like to see Addison Russell get a nod in there, given that he didn’t get enough love this year, in my opinion. The bat is still developing, and, when you’re in a lineup with rookies like Bryant and Schwarber, you can be easy to overlook. But Russell’s glove – at TWO middle infield positions – was as good as nearly anyone’s in baseball. Plus, he’s a year younger than Schwarber, and two years younger than Bryant.
I guess I just wanted to take an opportunity to throw some love on Russell. And now I’ve done so.
