Pearl Jam was one of the formative bands of my younger days, and I could go for hours about my favorite songs. (Hint: the one at the top is probably the one in that headline, though “Nothingman” is right there, too.) The fact that frontman Eddie Vedder is an ardent Chicago Cubs fan, and a close friend of Theo Epstein’s, is just so much gravy on my adult cake. That … is a weird sentence.
What can I say? I’m excited.
Pearl Jam today announced dates for its upcoming North American tour, and there are two stops at Wrigley Field – August 20 and 22. Tickets aren’t yet on sale, so you’ll have to be on the lookout for that.
You may recall that Pearl Jam played at Wrigley two years ago, and although the storms interrupted, it was an enjoyable and memorable show by all accounts.
Here’s hoping Pearl Jam shows up this time around with the Cubs clinging to a 25-game lead in the NL Central.
