With all the rumors about Dexter Fowler these past couple weeks, I thought it would be fun to remember one of the best moments from the 2015 season – and it was probably the first great moment of the season, too. The moment when you really started to suspect the year might be different, given that it assured that the Cubs had accomplished something they hadn’t in over a year: a 9th-inning comeback.
On an 0-2 pitch from former Cub LaTroy Hawkins, Fowler turned a one-run deficit into a one-run lead in Colorado back in early April:

And we all lost our minds. Watching it even today, I can’t help but smile endlessly.
The Cubs would go on to do that kind of thing all season, but this was the first one. It stuck with me all year, and even though there were literally dozens and dozens of incredible moments in 2015, this is one of the top few that will stick with me forever.
