[adinserter block=”1″]The Cubs put out a very nearly regular lineup to start yesterday’s game, and, while I’m not saying that’s why they blew up offensively, I will say it was really nice to see them scoring so many runs so quickly. The Cubs put up 15 runs and scored in every inning but two, and the five they scored in the first inning would have been enough to win the game.
It started immediately, with Dexter Fowler tripling to lead off the game for the Cubs, and scoring, little league-style, on an error on the play:

A few batters later, Kyle Schwarber ripped a triple of his own:

I’m not sure how that turned into a triple, since it looked like a standard double to the gap, but good on Schwarber for hustling immediately.
The next batter, Jorge Soler, hammered one to deep right center:

Jason Heyward also had a triple in the game – it was the triples game:

Later in the game, John Andreoli hit his team-leading fourth homer of the spring:

Kris Bryant had no homer or triple in the game, but he did double:
