Today, the Chicago Cubs (5-11) are squaring up against their hometown rival Chicago White Sox (7-7) at Camelback Ranch.
Yesterday, with a lineup full of regulars, the Cubs whopped the Diamondbacks 15-4 on the strength of multiple extra base hits. Hopefully, they can keep the good times rolling and show off their powerful offense.
Kyle Hendricks will look to keep the good times rolling, as he takes the mound, today, for the Cubs. On the Spring, he’s thrown 9 innings (across three games), giving up just five hits, one walk and one earned run with 11 strikeouts. Absent an injury or an utter implosion over the next two weeks, he will be the in the starting rotation, come April.
Albert Almora gets a rare start in let field, as Fowler takes center, but it’s good to see both he and Jeimer Candelario in the lineup once again. If Jeimer keeps hitting the way he has and Almora keeps flashing the leather, both of them will force their way onto the Major League roster very soon.
Today’s game will be available on MLB Network, as well as MLB.tv. Additional video and audio of the game will also be made available on MLB.com or through the AtBat app. For future reference, you can check which games will be televised here.
