Albert Almora is so good in the outfield – so natural, so instinctive, so controlled – that he not only has incredible range, but he also does an excellent job of actually gloving balls that he can only barely get to.
Like this one today against the Mets:
That actually wasn’t even a perfect route, but he breaks so quickly on the ball and tracks it so well that you can actually see the moment he adjust his route, and it’s a mere three or four steps into his break. From there, it’s a straight line to the spot where he gloves the ball.
