[adinserter block=”1″]In a 14-run game, there are usually plenty of impressive offensive highlights. While that’s certainly true for the Cubs’ win last night, there aren’t quite as many ooh-and-ahh moments as you might think. That’s because the offense kind of just kept grinding, and adding on run by run with a walk here and a hit there. And that’s not a bad thing in the least!
There were definitely some highlights, though, like Anthony Rizzo putting his running shoes on and legging out a triple:

Chase Field has a cavernous outfield, and Rizzo took advantage there on something that might have been a single at Wrigley Field.
Rizzo also singled in the game, took a walk, was hit by a pitch, and hit a three-run homer rocket. That one came on a down and in slider, he appeared to later say in the dugout that it was exactly what he was looking for:

Rizzo’s second homer of the young season came off the bat at 109.6mph, according to Statcast, which is an especially hard shot for Rizzo (he’s usually more of a towering, good launch angle guy).
Together with the triple and the single, Rizzo totaled eight bases on the night, and also knocked in six runs … something he also did at Chase Field in a game last May.
