At one point tonight, the Chicago Cubs were being no-hit by Reds pitcher Brandon Finnegan.
But, after they knocked him out in the 7th inning, the Cubs bats came alive and the flood gates opened.
First, Jason Heyward hit a two out, two RBI single, and then, with one out in the bottom of the eight inning, Addison Russell hit a 3-run blast, giving the Cubs the lead (and ultimately, the win).
The home run put the Cubs on top 5-3, and that’s how the score stayed for the rest of the game. Now *that* was an exciting ending to the Cubs home opener…
