The Chicago Cubs will look to keep the good times going as they welcome the Colorado Rockies to Wrigley Field for a weekend set.
Kyle Hendricks gets his second start of the year today, and the wind is blowing in, so it could be a nice day to pitch. He’s coming off a solid debut in Arizona, and he’ll face a Rockies lineup without Charlie Blackmon or the same intimidation that you’re used to feeling when you look at a Rockies lineup, particularly outside of Coors. Trevor Story has been the nice tale in the start of the season, but it sure feels like rapid regression will come eventually.
Javier Baez is back with the Cubs for this one, and, although he doesn’t start, he’ll probably make an appearance at some point in some way.
I am vaguely aware of Rockies starter Chad Bettis, but if I tried to speak intelligently about what it’ll be like for the Cubs to face him, I’d be faking it. In years past, that would be precisely the type of starter I’d be afraid to see the Cubs facing.
