I love it when there are no off-days between series.
After taking two of three from the St. Louis Cardinals, the Chicago Cubs are making their way down to Cincinnati to face the Reds for the second time this season.
They’re going with a slightly different lineup look tonight though, so let’s check it out.
Today’s Cubs Lineup vs. the Reds (Brandon Finnegan)
- Dexter Fowler, CF
- Jason Heyward, RF
- Kris Bryant, 3B
- Anthony Rizzo, 1B
- Jorge Soler, LF
- Ben Zobrist, 2B
- Addison Russell, SS
- David Ross, C
- Jake Arrieta, P
David Ross draws the rare start for someone other Jon Lester; although, Miguel Montero has caught in each of the last four games, so a breather will be very welcomed. With Jon Lester scheduled to take the bump tomorrow too, Ross will likely get two in a row. Given his defensive performance of late, that’s perfectly fine by me.[adinserter block=”1″]
Kris Bryant stays up in the lineup (batting third), with Ben Zobrist moving back down to the six-hole. Zobrist has been scuffling on offense a little lately, but he has been taking his walks and finding other ways to be valuable (and it’s not as though Kris Bryant has been killing the ball). All in all, with Jake Arrieta on the mound, I like the Cubs chances.
We’ll have a full Pre-Gamin’ up in advance of game time.
