Tonight, Jake Arrieta threw the second no-hitter of his career against the Cincinnati Reds.
Wow.
We will have much, much more on this in the coming days, but I wanted you fine Cub fans to have a place to celebrate and discuss one of the best Cubs pitchers in recent memory: Jake Arrieta.
Jake’s final line reads: 9.0 IP, 0H, 4BB, 6Ks and it took him 119 pitches – his ERA on the 2016 season is now a minuscule .87 ERA. Oh, and he also went 2-4 with a walk at the plate. #Beast
If you recall, he’s taken the Cincinnati Reds deep into a no-hitter a couple times before, but tonight he finished what he started. His last no-hitter came against the Los Angeles Dodgers on August 30, 2015. As soon as the recap for tonight’s game becomes available I will share the video here (below). Congrats, Jake. You are one heck of a pitcher.

And some added fun from Twitter:

(By the way, our very own Brett Taylor is at the game tonight. Congrats, Brett. That was a good one to be at).
