Pre-Gamin’: Cubs v. Reds (6:10 CT) – Lineup, Broadcast Info, Game Thread

Chicago Cubs

great american ballpark

The Cubs are working on a 24-1 run scoring advantage in this series, and I don’t think anyone sees that as “enough already.” Keep the foot on the gas.

John Lackey starts for the first time since his absolute gem in St. Louis, and he’ll look to keep up the Cubs’ impressive run of pitching in this series (to say the least).

Offensively, the Cubs go with a similar lineup tonight to the one the sported last night, with Miguel Montero tapping in for David Ross as the primary change.

Taking the ball for the Reds is old friend Dan Straily, whose done quite a bit of bouncing around since the Cubs traded him to the Astros before last season as part of the Dexter Fowler deal. He moved into the Reds’ rotation last time out with a nice five-inning outing against the Rockies. As a big leaguer, Straily has tended toward being a very hittable guy, but he’s upped the strikeouts a bit the last couple years, though his walk rate has popped up alongside. That tends to be the type of pitcher the Cubs can work a bit.
