There were times during Spring Training last year that I’d hear folks remark that they mistook, at one time or another, Dan Vogelbach for Kyle Schwarber, or Schwarber for Vogelbach. You heard it less this Spring Training, after Schwarber established himself as a young star in the big leagues, but the jokes about the two of them being twins didn’t entirely fade.[adinserter block=”1″]
Whether you think they actually look alike or not, Vogelbach did his best yesterday to emulate Schwarber’s lefty power stroke. That’s because, like Schwarber did so famously in the NLDS, Vogelbach hit a home run off the TOP of the video board at Principal Park in Des Moines:
Holy crap that’s a monster homer. That is not a small board, and it is not right on top of the field. Just looking at it, I’m not sure I would have believed it was possible to hit a homer up there.
And Vogelbach didn’t just hit it up there, he took out the letter ‘A’ in Park:
Told that Vogelbach's homer hit off the A on the park sign that is out. Crushed. #Cubs #MiLB pic.twitter.com/9LW7BwBKmd

That’s just crazy.
The homer was Vogelbach’s second of the year, and raised his AAA slash line to .352/.453/.537. [adinserter block=”2″]
