The Chicago Cubs were scheduled to take on the Atlanta Braves today at 1:20pm CT, but the game has been postponed due to inclement weather.
There is no make-up date scheduled yet, but if you did have tickets to the game, you should hold onto them, because they will be accepted at the rescheduled contest.
With today’s rainout, Wednesday’s rainout and Monday’s off-day, the Cubs have played in just three games since last Sunday. Although, maybe that’s not the worst thing in the world, considering the expected absence of Kris Bryant and the continued absence of Miguel Montero.

Still, when the games you’re missing come against the Brewers and the Braves, you don’t worry too much about the team playing at slightly less than full strength. Perhaps, if the games are put off long enough, though, each team (Brewers and Braves, that is) will be further depleted by mid-season sell-offs than they are even now.
(Updated: See below) Since Jon Lester pitched yesterday, John Lackey was scheduled to take the mound today. But, there’s no word yet on if he’ll pitch tomorrow, or settle for a side session, with the rest of the rotation moving on as scheduled. To be sure, Jake Arrieta started the day after he was scheduled to earlier this week, but there was a lot less time in between those two starts (day game after a scheduled night game) than there is today and tomorrow. So, we’ll see. If it’s not Lackey tomorrow, it’ll be Jason Hammel.
Update: And just like that, Carrie Muskat confirms that John Lackey will indeed pitch tomorrow, while Kyle Hendricks will skip a turn in the rotation. That means that the Pirates series that starts on Monday will feature Hammel, Arrieta, and Lester.
No baseball today, friends. Sorry.
