That’s a sweep!
And a prolific sweep at that!
The Cubs got huge days from Anthony Rizzo and Javier Baez, and a huge three-run homer from Ben Zobrist to put up another ho-hum six runs.
Jon Lester was probably not at his best today, but he managed to wriggle out of every jam (with some help from David Ross, and also from a sticky glove). Adam Warren finally gave up some runs, but it was a no-harm, no-foul situation, as Pedro Strop and Hector Rondon followed up by allowing nothing. Poor Hector Rondon – he’s never going to record another save, is he?[adinserter block=”1″]
But that’d be OK by the Cubs, and probably OK by him, too, if it meant that the Cubs were winning every single game by 4+ runs, and he was still getting a chance to dominate in the 9th.
