Iowa currently has inverted home/road splits; they are two over .500 on the road, but three under at home. That results in a slightly sub .500 record at 13-14. They trail Omaha by by three and a half and are currently sitting in third place in the division. They play in Omaha today and tomorrow to wrap up a three game series, and then come home for Nashville.
The Smokies also have inverted home/road splits. In their case they are four under at home and three over on the road for a 14-15 overall record. Like the I-Cubs, that leaves them in third place. Tennessee trails Jackson by 4.5 games. Given that they are playing well on the road, their five game set in Montgomery (starting Monday) could help push them back over .500. First they have to conclude their series at home against Mississippi today.
The Pelicans are over .500 at 15-13, but they also are doing better on the road (9-6) than at home (6-7). Myrtle Beach is in second place in the division, 4.5 games back of a stacked Salem team. They wrap up a series in Wilmington today, and then start a home stand on Tuesday against Winston-Salem. On Friday they hit the road again for four games in Frederick.[adinserter block=”1″]
And then we have the South Bend Cubs, arguably the most talent rich team in the farm system. Their 17-11 record (fueled by a three game winning streak) is good enough for second place, one game back of Lake County. So far the Cubs have spent most of their time at home, but that is about to change with a vengeance. After an off day today, the Cubs will hit the road for fourteen road games in fifteen days, the last four against division leading Lake County. That journey starts in Dayton, and then moves to Lansing on Thursday.

This was a very close one until the Cubs pulled away a bit in the bottom of the eighth.
