The Pirates were fantastic last year, and they have a very strong team again this year.
But, man, they must be pretty tired of seeing the Cubs.
For the fifth straight game after the Cubs handled them in the Wild Card Game in 2015, the Pirates lost to the Cubs, and none of those five games were even competitive.
The Pirates got two runs off of Jake Arrieta when he temporarily seemed to lose it in the 4th inning, but that all she wrote. Not only did Anthony Rizzo give the Cubs the only three runs they’d need to win in the very next half-inning, but the team tacked on five more from there, and Arrieta put it in another gear, dominating the next four innings. He looked fantastic.[adinserter block=”1″]
The Cubs piled on offensively, even on a not-so-bat-friendly day at Wrigley Field. They’re just so good.
And, like I said … the Pirates have gotta be a little tired of it by now.
