The Cubs head to St. Louis to face Adam Wainwright and the Cardinals, and this is the crew that’ll do the trick:
- Dexter Fowler, CF
- Kris Bryant, RF
- Ben Zobrist, 2B
- Anthony Rizzo, 1B
- Jorge Soler, LF
- Miguel Montero, C
- Javy Baez, 3B
- Addison Russell, SS
- John Lackey, P
[adinserter block=”1″]Kris Bryant takes his turn in right field, with Javy Baez getting a start at third. In theory, John Lackey gets a lot of groundballs to the left side of the infield, so hopefully Baez and Russell will create a black hole (but, well, the kind that can not only take stuff in, but then also spit it back out in the general direction of first base).
Jorge Soler continues to be a fixture in the lineup in the post-Heyward injury landscape, and he had a really nice series in San Francisco. May it continue in this one. Even after Heyward returns, there will be starts available for Soler in left if he’s showing the kind of defense and discipline at the plate that he showed the last few days.
Full Pre-Gamin’ comes later tonight.
