What a crazy, fun, scary, ultimately thrilling game.
There will be so much to unpack from this one in detail later, but the high points are this:
- It’s good to keep scoring as many runs as you possibly can, because you just don’t know.
- Jake Arrieta was entitled to a start like that after a year of basically being perfect. I’m not even sure he was all that bad today.
- Some ugly defensive moments in this one.
- Some ugly umpiring behind the plate in this one.
