The Cubs are mighty hot these days once again, winners of nine of their last ten games.
Edwin Escobar, 24, makes just his second start of the year (the first, against the Astros, didn’t go so well). He was a solid prospect with the Red Sox a while back, but was DFA’d earlier this year by Boston, and the Diamondbacks – who had some desperate rotation needs – figured they’d take a flyer.
Jason Hammel makes his first start since leaving his last after just two innings (hamstring cramp). Hopefully he’s looking sharp and comfortable today.
