Chicago Cubs Lineup: Baez Spells Zobrist, Soler Keeps Starting

Chicago Cubs

happy cubs old logoThe Cubs face another lefty today, this time in Philadelphia – but it’s a guy they beat up on just a couple short weeks ago.

Chicago Cubs Lineup v. Philadelphia Phillies (Adam Morgan):

  1. Dexter Fowler, CF
  2. Jason Heyward, RF
  3. Kris Bryant, 3B
  4. Anthony Rizzo, 1B
  5. Jorge Soler, LF
  6. Javy Baez, 2B
  7. Addison Russell, SS
  8. David Ross, C
  9. Jon Lester, P

Morgan has had a tough go of it, particularly against righties, and he’ll see quite a few of them today. Javy Baez gets a start at second base in place of Ben Zobrist, who gets the day off.

Jorge Soler starts for the third game in a row, undoubtedly in part because of the lefty on the mound, but also because he’s really been producing of late.

David Ross is in there to catch Jon Lester, but it also nicely lines up with the lefty on the mound for the other team. I always like when that works out.
