Chicago Cubs Still All Over the Top of the All-Star Vote
In last week’s initial All-Star voting update, the Chicago Cubs held the entire infield, as well as one of the outfield spots.
That’s still the case, but now that outfielder – Dexter Fowler – is the TOP vote-getting outfielder:

Fowler leads NL outfielders in WAR (already at 3.3!), by the way, so you can’t even say this is just Cubs fan base size and homerism taking over.
Overall, Fowler is just behind teammates Kris Bryant and Anthony Rizzo in the voting – Rizzo leads the entire NL, and is lapping the field at first base.
You could definitely argue the merits of Addison Russell at shortstop, and Jason Heyward and Jorge Soler don’t deserve to be just outside the starting group in the outfield, but otherwise this is all pretty fair.
Cubs fans are loyal and smart.
