The Cubs took the series in convincing fashion today, blowing out the Braves for the second straight game: lots of offense paired with a dominating starting pitching performance. Split those up for extra wins some days, boys!
Jon Lester was fantastic once again, and even pitched around some sloppiness behind him on defense (you wonder if the heat was affecting the players on both sides).
Offensively, the Cubs just raked. And walked. And slugged. It was the kind of overwhelming win you’d be able to predict in another sport when the best in the league faces the worst in the league.
