Chicago Cubs Still All Over the Top of the All-Star Vote
In last week’s (the second) All-Star voting update, the Chicago Cubs held the entire infield, as well as one of the outfield spots (Dexter Fowler).
In fact, at that point, Fowler had just become the top NL vote getter for the outfield, and the same remains true today:

And it’s not like that’s unfair or something. Fowler is still hitting .292/.397/.489 on the season, and has already been worth almost as much WAR this year (3.0) as he was in all of 2015 (3.2). In that respect, he leads all NL outfielders and trails only Mike Trout (3.7) overall.
Anthony Rizzo still has more votes than anyone in the National League and he’s followed, perhaps unsurprisingly, by his other half, Kris Bryant at third base. Not for nothing, but Bryant has started 36 games at third base this season, but a whopping 23 in the outfield (plus another 14 in which he eventually moved into the outfield). Maybe he can win two spots on the roster.
