A very cool honor just dropped for two big-time Chicago Cubs positional prospects:

Jeimer Candelario and Eloy Jimenez will represent the Cubs’ organization at the All-Star Futures Game. Each has come in for a lot of love around these parts lately, and is putting up huge numbers. Jimenez, just 19, is laying waste to the Midwest League to the tune of a league-leading .342/.380/.551 line. Candelario, 22, has hit .345/.473/.638 in 18 games at AAA since he was promoted a few weeks ago from AA.
Always nice to have Cubs prospects in these games, and these two will be fun to watch. I wonder if Jimenez will participate in the home run derby, too …
The game, itself, is Sunday, July 10 at 6pm CT, and you’ll be able to watch on MLB Network (and probably streaming on MLB.com).
