Jeimer Candelario will make his big league debut in front of his home crowd – he’s originally from New York – and he’ll have a nice, stiff test in Noah Syndergaard right out of the gate.

His presence in the starting lineup necessitates a shifting around of other players, particularly when paired with Willson Contreras in left field. Kris Bryant goes to right. Jason Heyward goes to center. Javy Baez fills in at shortstop.

The end result is a bit of an odd bird for a lineup, but that’s not uncommon on getaway day, especially in a day game after a night game. Plus, there are a lot of bats you want to see in the lineup right now, so there you go.

We’ll have a full Pre-Gamin’ closer to game time.
