Miguel Montero is back in behind the plate to catch Arrieta – which has felt like the only way he’s gotten into games lately. Hopefully, he can have a nice start to also finish the first half strong, rest up and be back at it 100% in the second half. Even if he doesn’t do much at the plate, though, the other half of his battery may pick up the slack. Remember, in 2016, Jake Arrieta is slashing .306/.375/.500
Jason Heyward is still covering center field for Dexter Fowler and hitting nearer the bottom of the order. Not unlike Montero, he can use a good game at the plate to finish what was ultimately a disappointing first half offensively. Although, with the lefty Francisco Liriano on the mound, neither has an easy match-up.
We’ll have a full Pre-Gamin’ closer to game time.
