The Chicago Cubs finally beat the New York Mets after a good long stretch of not doing that, and they’ll try to do it again tonight with this group.

When I see Syndergaard’s name, I think about how he essentially seems unhittable – unfair, even – when he’s commanding his pitches. He hasn’t always been that guy, though, and you pretty much have to hope you get him on a down day.
But then, the same has been true for the Cubs’ starter tonight for the better part of two and a half years, save for the last month or two. Perhaps Jake Arrieta can show the Mets some unfairness tonight, too. And hit a dinger.
The rest of the lineup is a mix of guys, many of whom are playing where they are so that lefties Tommy La Stella and Miguel Montero can fit into the lineup. Versatility aplenty.
Ben Zobrist is back in there after a couple days off for added rest.
We’ll have a full Pre-Gamin’ for you closer to game time.
