Chicago Cubs Lineup: Trying Again Against Bartolo Colon

Chicago Cubs

happy cubs old logoLast night was ugly on the offensive side of the ledger – to say the least – and it brought back a rush of untoward feelings. If the Cubs manage a good offensive day today, I bet those bad feelings go away (probably to an inappropriately extreme level). And if the Cubs struggle offensively today – especially if they fail to come through when there are good scoring opportunities – the reaction will be equally extreme and inappropriate in the opposite direction.

That’s how high strung Cubs fans are right now.

In any case, here’s the crew that’ll try to put up those runs.

Chicago Cubs Lineup v. New York Mets (Bartolo Colon)

  1. Ben Zobrist, RF
  2. Kris Bryant, 3B
  3. Anthony Rizzo, 1B
  4. Willson Contreras, LF
  5. Jason Heyward, CF
  6. Addison Russell, SS
  7. Miguel Montero, C
  8. Javy Baez, 2B
  9. Kyle Hendricks, P

The Cubs had pretty much the same personnel group in there against Colon a couple weeks ago, and they notched just four hits over six innings, which usually causes a lot of problems against Colon, who walks almost no one. In that one, though, he walked three. I wouldn’t bank on that again today, so the Cubs’ bats will need to do the damage themselves.

We’ll have a full Pre-Gamin’ for you closer to game time.
