Cubs Minor League Daily: All Americans In Wrigley, Extra Innings in South Bend and Eugene

wrigley fans standing at batThe Chicago Cubs are not using Wrigley right now, but there is baseball in the old building. Once again the Under Armour All-American Game is in Wrigley, and you can watch it on MLB.com at 4 PM ET today.

This game features some of the best high school baseball players in the country, players we will be hearing more about as we head into the 2017 draft. Assuming the Cubs do not sign any more major free agents this winter and keep their first round pick, it isn’t impossible that the Cubs could spend that pick on someone who will be playing in Wrigley this afternoon.

  • In addition to Coghlan and Soler, the Cubs have sent relief pitcher Jack Leathersich to Tennessee to continue his rehab. Leathersich, if he continues to pitch well, is another late season bullpen option for the Cubs.
