Addison Russell is back in there after leaving yesterday’s game when a heel contusion tightened up on him. That’s good to see.
Slightly less good to see is that Dexter Fowler, who sat yesterday with what Joe Maddon described as “general body soreness,” is the designated hitter, as opposed to being in center field. Given that I assume it’s a slightly better defensive crew with him in center, this would appear to be a kind of extra rest for Fowler (who returned on Friday after missing a month with a hamstring injury). Then again, he wouldn’t be in there at all if there was a serious concern, so whatever. Rest is rest, and rest is good.
It’s a pretty good lineup the Cubs get to put out there when in an AL park, eh?
Full Pre-Gamin’ coming closer to game time.
