#BNBlogathon Check-In: Hour 26

Chicago Cubs

dusty sleeping blogathonI am currently blogging – here, on Facebook, on Twitter (hash tag #BNBlogathon for those who want to jump into the fray themselves), and on Snapchat – for 39 hours straight, until slightly past MLB’s August 1 non-waiver Trade Deadline, thanks to your generous donations to Make-A-Wish. I’ll be doing recaps on the process throughout the day, but you’ll also see normal posting (Bullets, news, Pre-Gamin’, EBS, etc.), as well as a significant uptick in rumor/trade posts.

As the meat of the morning approaches, it’s going to become a little trickier to do the check-ins quite as regularly. I’m going to try, though.

Also, I’m sloowwwwwing down. Not that I’m trying to. It’s just happening.

Total Posts So Far:

News and Rumors Since the Last Check-In:

It sounds like Jay Bruce will be dealt soon, though we don’t know to where exactly. A new Cubs top prospect list, which seems appropriate today. And looking at those two awesome catches in left field from guys who didn’t actually start in left field last night.

Most Interesting Tidbit Since the Last Recap:

It would be disingenuous to say there was much. The Bruce thing isn’t a surprise, and, outside of that, it’s still been very quiet. Sometimes deadlines like this blow up out of nowhere because deals were percolating behind the scenes, but sometimes they are quiet at this point because there’s simply not much going on.

Current Thoughts About the Chicago Cubs’ Trade Deadline Strategy/Execution:

I’d just like to hear a little more on the starting pitching rumors. A deal remains unlikely, but it’s fun to dream on a guy who can impact the Cubs in 2017 and beyond, and be high quality depth down the stretch this year.

Current Beverage/Stimulant of Choice:

Starbucks frappuccino from a bottle I got at the store last night when I realized I’d run out of beverages.

Where I’m Writing:

Strangest Thought Passing Through My Mind:

More like strangest thing passing through my mind by way of swimming down my ear canal and then out the other side.
