The Chicago Cubs got the series off to a great start with a breezy win over the Miami Marlins yesterday, thanks in large part to another brilliant start from pitcher Kyle Hendricks.

Jason Hammel will look to do the same tonight. Here’s the lineup that will help him.

Chicago Cubs v. Miami Marlins (Jose Fernandez)

  1. Dexter Fowler, CF
  2. Willson Contreras, C
  3. Anthony Rizzo, 1B
  4. Ben Zobrist, 2B
  5. Jason Heyward, RF
  6. Addison Russell, SS
  7. Chris Coghlan, LF
  8. Javy Baez, 3B
  9. Jason Hammel, P

Kris Bryant, per Joe Maddon on 670 the Score, is getting a scheduled night off tonight, as Javy Baez takes his place on the field and Willson Contreras takes his spot in the lineup. Even without arguably their best hitter (nah … it’s Rizzo, right?), the Cubs lineup is formidable.

Jason Heyward gets bumped up a bit to the fifth spot in the lineup, Addison Russell slides down to the sixth spot, and Chris Coghlan bats seventh while manning left field. Facing Jose Fernandez will not likely be much fun for anyone, but we’ll get to that a little later on.

We’ll have a full Pre-Gamin’ for you closer to game time.
