The Chicago Cubs have won ten games in a row, and boy have they done it in a variety of ways.
Sure, they’ve had typical wins, too, but three of those ten wins – including the one that launched them all – came on crazy walk-off plays. There was Jon Lester’s walk-off bunt. There was A.J. Ramos’s walk-off wild pitch.[adinserter block=”1″]
And now there’s Anthony Rizzo’s walk-off walk:

You gotta love the golf clap celebration as the Cubs amble out of the dugout. Appropriate for the situation, I think, even after capping off a crazy win. A walk-off walk is, after all, just a bit less exciting than, say, a walk-off grand slam.
But, hey, it’s no less fun for us!
The pitch was also clearly a strike, though made to look inside by Rizzo’s extreme plate-hugging tendencies. The Cardinals, and especially Cardinals fans, are going to be really chapped about this one. I can’t blame them.
I’ll still smile all day, though, thinking about the walk-off walk.[adinserter block=”2″]
