So many echoes from the earlier game, as the Cubs sweep the doubleheader from the Brewers. I missed most of it, though, because I was trying to sleep off some sickness. I think maybe I feel a little better this moring? We’ll see how today plays out.
Jason Hammel was fantastic once again, as he’s been this entire second half. Eh hem.
He had some great defense behind him (hello Anthony Rizzo wall/tarp catch, part two), and a Javy Baez two-run homer was all the offense he’d need. The game once again got a little tight in the 9th, required Aroldis Chapman to enter for his second save of the day. By the time he recorded the game-ending strikeout, the Brewers had the bases loaded. [adinserter block=”1″][adinserter block=”10″]
Cubs win. That’s two on the day, which is always fun and impressive, even against the Brewers.
