Kyle Hendricks was excellent again today, striking out eight Padres over six innings, and mostly getting out of what little trouble he got into. The bullpen was solid from there, including a three-strikeout ninth inning from Aroldis Chapman.
The Cubs loaded up on extra-base hits early and late, with the nail probably being Willson Contreras’s oppo shot in the 7th inning to give the Cubs a comfortable four-run lead. [adinserter block=”1″]
