Chicago Cubs Lineup: Jorge Soler Bats Cleanup Once Again

Chicago Cubs

happy cubs old logoReiterating: the Chicago Cubs can clinch the division this week in St. Louis, but it’ll require a sweep to pull off.

Which means they’ll have to win again tonight if they want to rub it the Cardinals’ faces on Wednesday.

Chicago Cubs Lineup v. St. Louis Cardinals (Jaime Garcia):

  1. Dexter Fowler, CF
  2. Kris Bryant, 3B
  3. Anthony Rizzo, 1B
  4. Jorge Soler, LF
  5. Ben Zobrist, 2B
  6. Addison Russell, SS
  7. Jason Heyward, RF
  8. Willson Contreras, C
  9. Jason Hammel, P

This particular lineup – with Jorge Soler in left field, batting cleanup – is becoming the norm against left-handed pitchers, and I must say it’s a nice one. While it leaves us without Javy Baez, we do get both of Willson Contreras and Soler, with the latter batting cleanup. I like it.

With the exception of Anthony Rizzo and Jason Heyward, the rest of the Cubs lineup will bat from the right side – something Jaime Garcia has struggled with this year.

We’ll have a full Pre-Gamin’ for you closer to game time.
