I am completely on board with acting like Miguel Montero’s walk-off home run against the Brewers on Friday was the real NL Central clincher.
Moving on to Saturday, Jake Arrieta takes to the mound and here is the lineup backing him:
Chicago Cubs Lineup v. Milwaukee Brewers (Zach Davies)
- Tommy La Stella, 3B
- Kris Bryant, 1B
- Chris Coghlan, LF
- Willson Contreras, C
- Albert Almora Jr., CF
- Javier Baez, SS
- Matt Szczur, RF
- Munenori Kawasaki, 2B
- Jake Arrieta, P

Kris Bryant is the only regular to return to the starting lineup after Friday’s celebration, but is playing first base. Willson Contreras returns to catch (and bat fourth) for the second straight game and Jorge Soler is still sidelined.
The rest of the lineup features some familiar faces from Friday’s lineup, but in different places.
Chris Coghlan moves up to third after his three-hit game, Albert Almora Jr. shifts to fifth after hitting his first Wrigley Field homer. Javier Baez remains at short, but slides down to sixth. Matt Szczur moves to right field and down to seventh in the order.
With the Cubs having already clinched and Joe Maddon working with expanded rosters, it is safe to expect the unexpected when it comes to lineups on a daily basis.
We’ll have a full Pre-Gamin’ for you closer to game time.
