Just like that, the Cubs have tied their win total from last year. And it’s another sweep, too.
Not unlike last night’s iteration, though in a more extreme fashion this time around, the Cubs and Reds kept things tight for a little while before the Cubs pulled all kinds of away.
I like the Reds.
John Lackey looked healthy once again, and he figures to be good to go come playoff time. He didn’t seem like the type that wouldn’t answer the bell, but with the minor shoulder issue behind him, we can now feel a little more certain.
Offensively, the Cubs had great at bats all night, notched hit after hit, and punctuated it all with a monster two-run shot from Kris Bryant.[adinserter block=”1″]
It was just a good night all around, and there was even a little fun trolling (I presume) at the end of the game, with Bryan Price challenging a meaningless play, and Joe Maddon making bullpen switches that perhaps he might not otherwise make in a 9-2 game. (Though he’s gotta get guys work at some point.)
